Smart Lock is one of the coolest features included with Android 5.0 Lollipop; it offers a handful of clever ways to unlock your device automatically at the right time and place. Now, Google is rolling out another option that could be great for anyone who enjoys talking to their smartphone.
Trusted Voice apparently lets you unlock your phone by simply saying the words “Ok Google.” You can set up the new feature in just a few minutes, though Google notes that it’s not as secure as other methods. Someone with a similar voice could potentially trick your phone, or they could just use a recording of you to unlock the device.
Still, it’s a pretty cool addition to Smart Lock, which already includes Trusted Devices,Trusted Places and Trusted Face as alternative options. According to Android Police, Trusted Voice is just rolling out now to the first devices, so it could be a while before most people get to try it for themselves.
